Most practical math related major?

I'm a current physics major and physics will be too time consuming for me. plus i'm already losing interest in this physics shit. takes up a lot of time.

I have other career goals that are more risky, I just want a solid major to fall back on. I am looking at applied mathematics at Purdue, but I'm unsure. It seems like a very broad major.

Give me some insight into experiences /sci/, i'd prefer not to work in an office or some shit. A lab or government job would be cool.

I know the exact answer to your problem but revealing by strategy will create who knows how many more competitors thus I cannot reveal it until I am in a position where my strategy has been secured, and a position where I am high up enough that revealing my strategy will create kids trying to come up to my position and thus giving me more power

hope that helped
