/sci/ has this idea been suggest before?

1. Parents conceive
2. Parents pay scientists to use blastomere extraction to take some stem cells from embryo
3. Child's stem cells are cultured as he grows
4. Child now has access to his own stem cell bank to treat him with future problems.

Pros:

- No ethical problems, the stem cells are the childs
- Stem cells from embryo more useful than those found if harvested as an adult

Cons:

- Hard to implement
