I hear this in the city where I live as well. especially when the temperatures are cold. and I asked a city engineer who told me that it's basically wind passing through tunnels and between buildings. he mentioned that manholes especially produce this type of sound. it's basically like a giant whistle.

and like i said, it's still wind.

what are you trying to do? convince us of some idiotic bullshit like "it's the aliens, man!"?

come on.

Passing trains go slowly through urban train yards. Plus ambient sound and Chicago is the windy city for a reason.

How do w know these videos aren't fake?
Also, I could tell right away that the noise in Ontario was because of the power lines being frozen and slowly moving in the breeze. Not sure about the Chiraq video.

OP here. I have no idea what it is. Just realized that second video was fake. I hadn't watched it all the way through. The thing is, there are 100's of those video's from all over the world. One in New Zealand where it looked like they were hiking. So I'm guessing no sound studio set up to fake that one. There are lots that just sound fake but there are about 20 of them that sound real.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist. HAARP is a global government funded experiment to study the best way to protect the world power grid from solar emp. Aliens don't exist (or haven't come here yet) otherwise my ass would home right now. lol

I've heard it's the core of earth not spinning the same which i highly doubt. I've heard it's increased solar flares jerking intensly on the magnetic fireld of earth. Maybe. I've heard that ISON is disrupting the harmonic balance in the solar system but ISON wasn't in our solar system in March 2011. I've even heard it's the trumpets of revelation. I call major bullshit. If it was (assuming they were real and you were the tiniest bit religous) you would know that the sounding of the trumpets from a being so powerful and holy that it would be the entire planet at once and not one single grain of sand would be unshaken from the reverberation.

I have no idea what it is. I just hoped someone here would have a clue.

Too bad the extent of science known on /sci/ is compiled to HURR DURR.

we have evidence on what does cause them.
you call them weird, but they are just as normal as cumulus. Just because you don't have the acuity to understand science don't be making up shit /x/ reasons.

tl;dr
go away

It is not unscientific to make a guess, although many people who are not in science think it is. Some years ago I had a conversation with a layman about flying saucers — because I am scientific I know all about flying saucers! I said “I don’t think there are flying saucers”. So my antagonist said, “Is it impossible that there are flying saucers? Can you prove that it’s impossible?” “No”, I said, “I can’t prove it’s impossible. It’s just very unlikely”. At that he said, “You are very unscientific. If you can’t prove it impossible then how can you say that it’s unlikely?” But that is the way that is scientific. It is scientific only to say what is more likely and what less likely, and not to be proving all the time the possible and impossible. To define what I mean, I might have said to him, "Listen, I mean that from my knowledge of the world that I see around me, I think that it is much more likely that the reports of flying saucers are the results of the known irrational characteristics of terrestrial intelligence than of the unknown rational efforts of extra-terrestrial intelligence." It is just more likely. That is all.

because those are fucking useful to gliderplanes. they indicate a "wave", much like a wave surfers use. you can fly along them and don't lose height, because the wind hitting the mountain and getting reflected by it is pushing you upwards.

Some of them sounded like the tripods in war of the worlds but i don't think those are real. The ones you can tell are real are with animals freaking out in them. Like no birds flying or the dogs looking back and forth and up.

what do you mean 'real'?
Just because there are no birds flying or dogs looking around doesn't even come close to validated the content of these videos.

I was raised in Nebraska. Every time a tornado was coming the horses and sheep would kneel, the cows would freeze, the brids would land. Like animals know when something is going to happen. I seen one video with birds flying everywhere. One with a dog scratching itself and didn't seem to notice any sound. Others with people walking around like they didn't hear it. That tells me the sound must have been added later.
