I remember watching a documentary about a group of average Moroccan kids in Israel being told that they are geniuses.
They all went through some "smart kids" program and went on getting masters and Ph.Ds in some scientific fields.
At the end of that doc they were crying about losing their Moroccan heritage and shit.

It's possible that saying to a kid that he's "special" makes his more motivated to study and succeed in life.

Actually, there was a girl who lived opposite me in my first year of uni that did this. She had a nice rack which I saw every morning since she was apparently oblivious to everyone.

Anyway, back on topic, toward exams she went progressively more insane and started writing random bits of maths on her window. Most of it had no connection to any other bit of the maths she'd written, but I think she thought it made her look cool. She'd written it so that people on the outside could see it perfectly, rather than her.

Anyway, at the end of the term I wrote "Nobody cares" with random sigmas and alphas chucked in there back to her. A few days later it got scrubbed off her window.

Top kek.

No environmental pressure against it I assume. Most people are very easily manipulated, and if most smart people grew up in terrible neighbourhoods they would have either turned into introverts who mind their own business because their used to not wanting to be hurt, or into criminals themselves.

Even the people on this board are very easily manipulated. If you post anti-semetic material on here for a week I am sure about 60% of the board will start blaming jews for all their problems. People generally aren't smart or objective thinkers neither are the people on this board.

I've even seen people here who are so emotional and stupid they say things like rich people are better and things like if there are poor smart people how come their poor. I won't go on though. The people on this board are ass clowns and its amazing I've even wasted 5 minutes of my time explaining this.

How do you know that? If you were to take everything you see on here so seriously, I'd imagine yourself as being an unintelligent individual. For one thing, your grammar is a bit lacking. And I didn't know what you meant by 80% of posts on /sci/ being "sarcastic". This is in fact 4chan though, sarcasm dominates most posts. I write on my windows because I can't afford a chalkboard/whiteboard. Its also way easier (and cheaper) to clean off than a white board.

Yes, it seems a bit pretentious and i'm certain people do it to seem smart and "lel so weird and quirky deschane* deschanel* deschanel*"
But, there is practical reason for it in that its fairly cost effective and better for the environment.

Having worked as a custodian with my family growing up, I can tell you the chemicals and product needed to effectively clean a whiteboard is bad if inhaled(which is inevitable if you use it) and really expensive. If you cleaned it with water or other means, you can run the risk of ruining it (color splotching, dead zones, etc) For a decent sized whiteboard, they do get a bit pricey. I'm not saying their shit, I'm just saying a window functions the same way and in the long run is a cheaper and very viable.
