So the other day I was thinking to myself and got a pretty terrifying theory on the universe, I'm hoping you guys can debunk it or shed some light if it's already a discovered topic.

When the universe eventually dies out, everything will go back to being just dark matter so it's fair to say that eventually after a certain amount of time and energy another big bang will occur. If it's exactly like the big bang that created our universe (which most likely it is, why wouldn't it be if it was just dark matter that previously existed?) then the evolution of the universe will be just like how we're experiencing it. We could have been living this life for an infinite amount of times previously.

So pretty much this is just an endless cycle of determinism that we can never escape. Why wouldn't this be true?

sure, i guess

prob not. depends on what happens in quantum

because your assumption about universe death and dark matter are completely dead wrong and show you have no education into either of these areas and quantum mechanics is still making up it's mind about determinism.

Appreciate the feedback man, I'm just trying to gain some more knowledge on my existence..but from the info of what I could find it seems like black holes will eat up all of the universe until there is nothing left but dark matter. If that's true then wouldn't that be how it was before our big bang?

Third law of thermodynamics. Entropy will always increase, thusly if you go backwards in time entropy will decrease and you will eventually hit a point of zero entropy. This is the beginning of the universe.

Existence had a beginning, though we do not know if it has had an end.

Sorry, I made a mistake her. I meant to say "if it will have an end"

I see, so you don't think this cycle will ever restart itself?

it's funny because it's entirely plausible on this board

Until dark matter is actually detected, I won't believe that it exists. I have hope for alternative theories like MOND with TeVeS that don't rely on dark matter or dark energy, but they don't have enough people willing to tie up the loose ends and risk their career doing so.
