We have a limited amount of genes. This means that the variations in which they can be combined is also limited. That means that soon, as the population of the planet grows, we will have two humans with exactly identical genes.

No.

Using the number of variations that the human genome project achieved.

Number of male variations: 1.2336e151
Number of female variations: 8.69076e154

Assuming a current population of 8 billion and a doubling of every 50 years*, it will take around 25,000 years before we reach a time when two unrelated people will have the same.

*which is an unrealistically high assumption

No. You're wrong. You've HUGELY underestimated the number of "variations in which they can be combined."

what about genetically enhanced humans? 25000 years from now we might be able to modify our genes. what if we will be able to add genes to humans. then the number of variations will be even larger. we might never reach the time when two humans have the same genes.

So in the sci-fi book Foundation that takes place 50000 years in the future and humans live on millions of planets there are two humans with the same genes. I am hopeful then.
