Hi,
I'm wondering what happens when a piece of brain tissue is transplanted from one brain to another. For instance a small piece of the primary visual cortex. Could it be used to transplant memories? How would something like this work?

No, The immune system would recongise the transplanted tissue as foreign and you would get meningitis, maybe even encephalitis.

And what if the immune system is supressed with meds?

Then no one knows, because we understand almost nothing of how the brain interfaces with itself or how memories are stored on an individual basis, and how much they differ.

It's also not likely to get solved any time soon.

It was solved a long time ago. Memories aren't stored in the brain, they're stored in the mind. You're not your body.

So it has been done before in mice and one human, does anyone know the results?

Dualist pls go

Considering that CNS nerves don't regenerate, you'd have a chunk of foreign brain matter sitting inside a hole in the native brain.

The nerve endings wouldn't connect.

Please don't hate us, not all dualists are this fucking stupid.

Enjoy the same quality of life as someone who has AIDS.

Not all dualists are stupid, as much as not all religious people for example are stupid, its true. Are they right? No.

>Not science pls go.
