I have a Cylinder that is 48" tall and has a volume of about 6109"cubed.

I want to reduce the volume to 5620 but keep the height at 48".

What is the new Diameter?

It's funny because the entire first sentence is irrelevant

Flip the formula
We know that V = pi * r^2 * h
So r^2 = V over pi * h

r^2 = 5620 / (pi * 48) = 37.269^2
Take the square root of it to remove the exponent, then multiply it by two to get diameter.

Verifying: pi * 37.269 * 48 = 5620.03

Sorry, I messed up a bit (it's late)
You don't take the square root to remove the exponent, you just disregard that and take the square root of 37.269 to get the radius which is 6.105
The diameter is 12.21

pi * 6.105^2 * 48 = 5620.3
