I´m curious to know if anyone of you has ever studied or read this thing called "Cognitive-Theoretic Model of the Universe" Written by Christopher Langan also known as "the smartest man in America" scoring about 190 in some IQ test.

I went on and read some pages and i must say i felt pretty stupid.

Philosophy, not science

But still pretty interesting. Not entirely sure what the fuck this dude is talking about.

Basically his new take on Cartesian Dualism?

Information exists as an abstract entity, separate from the material universe. Something like that

How do you know if its science or not? You havent read it all and even if you did, you would probably not comprehend the scientific method he´s using. This man is pretty fucking smart and he could be thinking on a level so above everyone elses, that his work wont even be properly acknowledged until someone as smart as him explains it in simpler terms in some years.

>> No.5978045

reading it now, will likely take a while as it is not something you can skim

inb4 people bashing it on the basis of certain terms without understanding any of it

if you have never given ontological philosophy any thought whatsoever then you lack context and background and have no hope of understanding this fully

given the abstract though, i am fully expecting this to be a neologistic circlejerk that attempts to bury banality so dense prose that few can recognize it

sounds like some pretty advanced science to me

because he himself admits its not science

>the Cognitive Theoretic Model of the Universe or CTMU, can be regarded as a supertautological reality-theoretic extension of logic

I read the article, thinking it was funny, but then afterwards I saw Chris Langan HIMSELF comment in the comment section of the article! Wow!

It's like he never heard of Ad Hominem lol.

I'm more concerned that he decided his theory of everything wasn't substantial enough to be typeset in LaTeX
