i have times when i can clearly remember whole pages i had read, especially when i was younger

it doesn't happen often and i don't know how to trigger it

i remember making 100 on my english comp final by remembering all of the answers literally word for word. and i only studied it the morning before i took the test

I have a contextual/algorithmic memory, based on how my thoughts unfold when I'm presented with particular triggers. It makes remembering sequences pretty easy.

Are you kidding, I can barely remember what I had for breakfast.

inb4 absolutely everyone claiming to have eidetic memory

>> No.5914766

I think mine would be closer to metamory/metcognition then eidatic. Sometimes, it's very eidetic / event oriented, but I get some very very bad Tip of Tongue problems. (language can be an issue.)

Only once, during a French final exam, having to translate excerpts of Napoleon's correspondence, which I had translated during the previous all-nighter. It never happened again.

Don't worry about "everyone", Elmer.

My memory is very selective.
I can remember whole pages of a good book word for word, or complete dialogs of a movie. But I can't remember where I parked my car, or what my schedule is.

I have a knack for remembering the most useless shit which will never help me in life while forgetting the important stuff

I am not close to the guy in your pic, but often I can memorize formulas and graphs by only looking once, sometimes even chunks of text.

Also, I can memorize chess games pretty well, and play blindfolded.
