/sci/, suppose we overcome all logistical problems in establishing a colony on mars, i.e. we have reliable ways of getting food and water, we have reliable shelter. wouldn't a majority of the colonists still die or fall very ill?

from what i understand long stays in environments with a fraction of earth's gravity fuck up the human body even with exercise and change the way microorganisms behave. wouldn't we first need to send animals (primates?) to mars and conduct health tests?

The issue of simulating earth's gravity is a logistical problem.

cool, all you've done is shuffle around definitions and not say anything about the problem at hand

I think that's only true in more dramatic scenarios, were the gravity is stronger then that of earths.

We live in giant hamster wheels which simulate earth g.
