Can someone help me extract caffiene from tea?
Add to my procedure and/or fill in the gaps if I have any:

Brew tea with distilled water.
Add a solvent that caffiene will dissolve in, (e.g. dichloromethane).
Separate dichloromethane layer in separatory flask, discarding the decaffeinated tea layer.
Evaporate the dichloromethane leaving behind impure caffiene.
Remove caffiene from beaker.
Recrystallize caffiene with an alcohol, (any issues with methanol?)
Smoke crystals in crackpipe, grind up and snort or ingest in any way you wish.

How about this, any improvements? Also, is it actually smokeable, if not can converting it into a hydrochloric salt make it smoke-able?

I get 240 tabs of 200mg doses for like 10 bucks

he process you are describing is going to cost more/ yield less

unless this is the newest who wants to be a millionaire

I have in my hand a bottle of 100 100mg caffeine tablets. I bought the bottle for like $12 at my pharmacy. "Wake ups" is the brand.

Not a great deal, but fucking cheaper than coffee.

Separating caffeine from tea was a lab assignment I had in organic chemistry years ago.

I don't really remember the procedure.

I just remember it involved brewing the tea and throwing it into a separation flask with something... and then going through a few more steps.

If memory serves, dimethyl ether and some sort of benzene compound were involved. The result was a white powdery substance of pure caffeine.

Tea doesn't only have caffeine. It has other stimulants, too.

Or course, but it'll probably result in purer caffiene extracting from tea compared to coffee.

Do I have to do some sort of A/B extraction, add some sodium bicarbonate before adding the dichloromethane? I hear some people doing this and not.
