pointless semi-related story: where I grew up was a private school called the Mamie O Stookey School, which was for reeeeetreads.
so when I was kid-like, the insult was to call someone a "stookey" (as if they were unintelligent enough to be a student there)

The playground was fenced in with a 6-foot chain link fence. Somehow it was discovered that there was one kid there who if you threw a stick over the fence, he would immediately grab it and go over to some other kid and start beating him with it.
