Bloody good idea, but its validity is questionable as far as it being a research tool goes.

86%, but I made three typos, so I missed three.

Protip: Associate the words. Like boat-dress, I thought of my boat shoes and how they're somewhat dressy.

Very smart indeed. I did something similar as an undergrad for an independent project. An anonymous response site for females on campus to tell us about their alcohol consumption, how many kids they've had, whether they're on birth control, etc. For a study about the interaction of ETOH and estrogen

I made a few mistakes being that it is 1:42 AM. What's interesting is that I have scored below-average on working memory for IQ tests. I was able to score quite well on here by associating the words with images.

For example, I imagined "apple eat" as myself standing in my kitchen while holding a red apple. The apple was ice cold to the touch, then I bit into it for a incredible crunch.

For "mouth time", I imagined a miniature circular clock being held in my mouth.

Second year maths student here. I know my memory is horrible but holy hell. My instant-recall memory is worse than people who have only completed up to grade 6, and is on-par with the fucking decrepit?

Anyone have any memory tips? I've already looked into the method of loci and mnemonic devices multiple times and failed, so I always end up going back to stupidly lengthy rote memorization sessions for those courses with an expansive list of terms/definitions, and for equations lists.

Do I need to take a multivitamin or something? What do I do? I don't want to have fucking Alzheimer's.

>> No.5778075

Got a 72. Kind of screwed myself because I thought that the memory test would only be one round, so I didn't pay attention when it went over the words again. I guess that would probably bump me up to around 80ish.

Used to be better, but I haven't been in school for a while so these things get rusty.

I think there must be. At my psych consultation I was told in-depth about how people with poor memory tend to drift towards straightforward work and avoid fields involving multitasking, like contracting and client-based work respectively. The doctor used law and medical school examples. As in, how students in quantitative programs vastly outperform arts students on the LSATs, but are on-par with them in law school. Similarly, the difference in scores between arts students and science students on the MCAT is negligible since one can do extremely well by doing a million practice exams.
