>tfw cant decide betweeb aerospace engineering or cosmology

I love all philosophy involving the universe. I would even say its the most fascinating thing i have ever experienced. On the other hand, a degree in physics then a phd in cosmology isnt very practical, especially if i want to work with an organization like NASA.

I jus dunno wat to du ;; its time i have to choose a path. i dunno how either will turn out for me

But i want to work for whatever clmpany is on the forefront of space exploration/research technology. I really dont know much about engineering to know i could love doing it all my life. But i know i could spend the rest of my life studying patterns jn the universe and philosophizing

I'll go to space some day, even if it means that I have to build a rocket by myself in my own back yard.

How many cosmology papers have you read because most people who want to study it have no idea of what is involved.

whats the hardest class youve had to take? did you ever think you werent going to make it? what are you thinking about doing after college?

>> No.5768602

>Hardest Class:
At my university they are called:
Compressible Flow
Aerospace Computational Techniques

As I understand it, most universities do their curriculum differently, and the classes may be named something else. Basically, all of my core classes such as aerodynamics etc were all crammed into one semester of junior year.
Content of the classes:
Compressible flow is all about shockwaves and shock wave relations. Anything dealing with remotely subsonic-transonic-supersonic flight is within this course.
Aerospace Computational Techniques (ACT) is all about numerical methods to do stuff for certain sections of the aerospace field. CFD (computational fluid dynamics), FEA (finite element analysis) and various linear algebra numerical methods were discussed.

>Did you ever think you werent going to make it
Multiple times, just because I have low self confidence and am not used to success. i definatly fell to the freshman effect from when I started until half way through my sophomore year. Joined every club I was interested in, got into a fraternity, etc, didnt do homework, hit on the psych and bio girls (was successful a few times if you know what i mean). When i actually looked at my gpa i had a moment of revelation that made my attitude go from fuck this to oh shit I need to work.

>What am I thinking about doing
Probably going to grad school. A couple of professors asked me to join the grad programs because I am apparently good at what they are researching. Otherwise since my gpa doesnt cooperate with me I cant really join one of the big aero companies, so I might just start off in the smaller, contractor companies. Design and analysis is my area, but I am also good at practical (manufacturing) engineering.

Best of luck to you my friend. I'm aspiring to aerospace engineering, which I'm hoping to take as master's. I'm at my first year of Mechanical, which I'm taking a B.A in.

Both will get you a job as an American taxi driver or you can move to Europe and make six figures working in your field.
