Does microwaving or long cooking destroy B12 and in particular B12 analogues?

Is there a way to get rid of such vitamin in a particular food (since it has a shitty, potentially detrimental variant of it) without making it inedible?

>Buffer samples were exposed to temperatures of 50°C - 70°C in a 625 watt microwave, a 1300 watt microwave and a convection oven set at 180°C, to detemine the effect of heat on vitamin B12. The destruction of the vitamin was not significant.

I'm just curious because of its iron content.

Spirulina taste is too shitty and swamp-like for me to even think to use it as an actual food and I eat lots of fish, caviar and mussel anyway.

Very useful, thank you.

I don't understand, you're looking for foods high in iron?

Yes. I do not eat meat btw (I find it disgusting among other things), only seafood and vegetables.

Fish doesn't give me the feel of eating a fucking smelly, lardy corpse.
Also, I'm against the treatment of animals in industrial farms.

not liking the taste of landmeat is a valid reason, but

How so?

Still less retarded than destroying your health with that pile of shit called burgers anyway.

so since a lot of people eat shitly prepared meat all meat is is now unhealthy?

you are a generalizing fagot.

ITT "scientists" pointlessly argue about genocide against living creatures, to satisfy their taste buds' lust for death, despite being able to satisfy their dietary requirements by being vegetarian/vegan and getting B12 from supplements

Some kind of fish surely are farmed, like salmons, but I doubt that they suffer like the land animals do.
It still leads to potential issues because of misuse of antibiotics, I know.

>so since a lot of people eat shitly prepared meat all meat is is now unhealthy?

No it isn't (if you don't eat it everyday), but it's not really necessary and, in many people, it tends to lead to bad habits like not eating fruit and vegetables.

Or maybe it's just a coincidence that most of the meat lovers I know never eat enough fruit and vegetables like many people of the first world nowadays.

yes it is.

how do land animals suffer more? they get a place safe from predators, get food, shelter, medical attention. and unless you are in some 3rd world country (or illegal slaughterhouses) they are killed more humanely than people are euthanized.

two main ways.

veal farming, pig battery farms

(i doubt non-mammals like battery chickens suffer, they don't have a pre-frontal cortex)

Stop lying to yourself, you don't have problems with raising animals for the sole purpose of human consumption.

>> No.5745417

No but spirulina does.
The problem is that its B12 analogue could interfere with legit B12 absorption in the human body.

I guess chlorella is a better choice.
