Why is it that so little is discussed about the relationship between phenotype and intelligence?

The correlation between being good at maths and looking like a nerd is off the fucking scale. I am sure I am not alone in my ability to discern somebody's general personality by simply looking at them.

So how is it that so many studies constantly try and tell us that mathematical ability is almost entirely nurture and not nature? It's infuriating, because it stands in such stark contrast to what I observe in real life.
