I find it hard to believe that humans evolved over only 4.6 billion years. It just seems way way more complicated than that. Is there something we're missing?

3,2 billion is the estimated time life has existed.
200.000 is the estimated time modern humans has existed.

You only find it hard though, I wager, because you haven't bothered to study what researches has to say about the matter. How very complex it actually is.
