Seriously, why the are you not using tau instead of pi yet?
some inspirational videos on the subject:
Vi hart (the most entertaining one):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jG7vhMMXagQ
kahn academy (it's Sal, being Sal):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jDDfkKKgmc
Kevin Huston (random youtuber who has some good points):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IF1zcRoOVN0
Michael Hartl (the guy who came up with the idea as far as I know):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H69YH5TnNXI

Since I started using tau all equations involving the circle constant starts making intuitive sense in a whole new way, try it!

because everyone else uses pi
it's kinda like not using metric

eta actually makes more sense than pi, but having 4*eta everywhere would just be a mess.

bah, you are the kind of person who would, in a world based on imperial units, reject metric if it was presented to you.

yes, because I'm too lazy to do conversions

1. I'm not so fucking lazy that I don't want to include a 2 in my calculations every now and then.
2. I don't like large denominators; pi/4 is nicer to work with than tau/8.
3. Nobody who writes STEM actually uses tau; so to use it I have to convert from pi at the beginning of the question and then convert back again at the end.

Do you have some kind of fucking problem with the number 4? I'll have you know it's done its fucking time, more than you for sure. It's a goddamn Methuselah. It's best friends with the first prime and neighbors with the second prime. You're not even in the same plane of fucking existence. You think you're nerdy? 4 was there before it was even hip to be square.

4 is the worst number ever.
I mean, the first composite? Talk about unoriginal; it's just made up of other numbers.
And what other numbers is it made up of? That's right; 2^2. Fucking incest right there. 4 is the retarded incest baby of the 2 family.2+2=4. It's just arithmetic.
And if that's not enough, 4 is a slut for primes; 3 and 5 on both sides of it. It's getting gangbanged by primes. Fucking whore 4.

the utility provided by a metric system makes it owrth the effort to adopt and implement across the board.

The utility of using tau instead of pi is not worth the effort.

No one finds geomtry or trigonometry confusing simply because we consider there to be 2pi radians in a circle instead of tau radians.

Just because 4 hangs out with some cool numbers doesn't mean it has any worth whats however. Let's be honest, the best number is 1: the multiplicative and exponential identity.

If 4 has seen so far, it's because he's stood on the shoulders of giants. He's got humility. That's a virtue.

And your puerile commentary on gangbanging? 1 is between every number and its neighbor. It's their culture. Don't judge just because you're jealous.

the next time you see the angle 3*pi/2: remember that it could have said 3*tau/4 representing 3 quarter circles, much more elegant and convenient than 3 half-half-circles
