Hello /sci/.
I know psychology might be a bit soft for your tastes, but help a fella out.
What are some good books on psychology? I need to know both the psychology of the mind, and a bit about the methods of a psychologist on as high a level as I possibly can. I'm close to entirely blank here, so entry level is preferred.
I'm not particularly interested in heavy neurology or medicine, although if it's a necessity I'm game.

I'm not looking to treat people, but I have a concept for a story (oh no, the humanities) that would require some knowledge of me. 'Sides, expanding your mind is always gnarly.

Man. I haven't resorted to bumping in years.

Yeah, I know, I'm sorry. I know that samefagging discreetly is kosher(let's not pretend like a lot of faggots doesn't do that), but I do not have it in me, it feels creepy.
I'm a bit desperate for advice, as I don't know a more credible source than 4chan in this case, and I'm not willing to invest tens of hours on the first hits google suggests me

samefagging is never acceptable

It's still pretty common, I have massive anecdotal evidence for that.
As I've mentioned, a bump is an exceedingly rare occurrence for me personally, take it easy. Just pretty desperate to get some advice.

I took psych in high school; this textbook is well written and good for entry level stuff.
