Ok guys I've been thinking about something, here it is:
1. if we say that energy and matter are the same thing beacuse of <div class="math"> E = mc^2 </div>
2. and we say that the expansion of the universe is due to Dark Energy
3. couldn't we say that space/space-time is energy because of <div class="math"> E = \frac{hc}{\lambda} </div>

I know this sounds strange, implying that the red-shift of light is actually causing the expansion of the universe and space to begin with. But then again thinking this way makes the theory that matter is made up of mini black holes make a lot more sense.
So my question is: Am I wrong and if so where?
