What is the best theory for evolution? I think it's Natural Selection but I've read that there are a few more like Biased mutation, Genetic drift, Genetic hitchhiking and Gene flow. Which one do you think is the best?

Probably stupid because certainly not trolling. Elaborate?

Genetic manipulation by a higher intelligence, did you know that humans don't even have the same number of chromosomes as our so called 'relatives'?

The best theory for evolution is The Theory of Evolution, that is the name of the theory that explains evolution.

Which is Natural Selection. Right?

There is no 'best' theory of evolution, there is only THE theory of evolution. The things you mentioned are all part of the theory of evolution. They're mechanisms which can lead to speciation (the development of new species).

no, theory of evolution.
hit that shit in wikipedia if you need to know more.

>Natural selection. e.g survival of the fittest.
>Sexual selection. e.g survival of the "fittest"

There's several and they're all part of the theory of evolution.

Saying one is the best is like saying laces are the best type of shoe.

These. Evolution is a theory that states inherited characteristics will change overtime in a biological population. The things you named are all different mechanisms by which evolution happens.

So we don't know why things change we just have explanations for why they change? Why can't we know? Or do they just all occur?

I can comprehend enough, if we're supposed to come from monkeys why are there no other 'close relatives' to humans with the same number as us? If you suddenly lose a chromosome you don't get more intelligent, you die.

>Natural selection. e.g survival of the fittest.
Please don't. This phrase was never actually used by Darwin, and doesn't do justice to the intricacy of the theory. Evolution isn't so much about survival or physical fitness as it is about reproduction. Saying something like "reproduction of the fittest" would be a tautology though, since by definition the fittest reproduce (as fitness is a measure of reproduction).

No one believes we come from monkeys. Monkeys and Humans share a common ancestor several million years ago. Over these several millions of years the number of chromosomes in both these lineages changed.

A difference in chromosome count doesn't mean we didn't share a common ancestor

We do know why they change that's what an explanation is "explaining why they change".

Theories aren't based on one single piece of evidence and just disregard the rest. If a piece of evidence supports the theory it becomes part of the theory and if it opposes the theory and there's enough of it then the theory gets scrapped.

If we didn't really no then they wouldn't be teaching it as a fact in every school worth its salt. Which is something you should attend sometime.

That wasn't the point of the phrase.

It was a set up for a joke.

>Sexual selection e.g survival of the "fittest".

That being the punchline.

I might come off as a fucking retard but don't they all work together? as in the theory of evolution.
