What if the universe is just an illusion?

You know, I thought about that last night after reading the redit thread about mindfucks. All kind of theories popped in my head about the immensity of the universe right before I went to sleep. What if it's just an illusion? What if everything outside the solar system is "painted"?

I know it's a stupid theory, because Hubble saw stars exploding, galaxies moving etc. But still, it's an interesting theory I think.

I guess we will find out if/when the Voyager 1 hits the "wall".

I thought the hills in the distance in my home town could be 'painted' one day as well. Looked fishy, far too beautiful and convienient. I decided to get on my bicycle and check it out, even though it happened to be an 8 hour trek one direction.

Maybe you should do something similar.

The hills turned out to be real, at least in the classic definition of reality, I could climb thrm, touch them, see them, smell them etc.

A conscient subject has to exist, as the act of thinking can only be made by a conscient subject. It's evident that we are all conscient subjects, therefore, we all exist, and so does the Universe, as it doesn't make sense that Universe is an illusion to all of us, because we can all interact with each other and everything around us, and we have experiences that are not induced by our own conscience. The universe is definitely not an illusion.
