Does anybody know a useful field of science that requires no math skill but has a pretty open job market?

Yes. I took the placement test today and I'm considered just barely under college level math. I didn't realize we could use scrap paper til after the god damn test.

so here is what you do, look up the class requirements for a major you want.. then select another major that shares a large portion of the same classes, knock out some straight a's in your first semester, then apply for a major change.

I was going to major in biology. I don't think there is anything similar that requires only college level reading and writing. I'm thinking about getting into the overpopulated field of psychology now...

Being a psychologist is like being a 13th century doctor.

No, and even those that dont require them certainly profit from math skills.

>> No.5410827

Science and math go hand in hand so to answer your question, there is no such field

>> No.5410833

It's not that I'm scared of math. In fact, I don't think I did too bad for a kid that hasn't been to school in nearly a decade. I'm willing to improve my math but my time is running out. I'm 26 and in my first year of college.

Most likely because it includes lectures on the math that's necessary.

I don't hate math. I just had a bad testing day that results in my available majors being limited. I really wanted to major in biology but now I'm recommended to take Beginning Algebra. I don't feel like this is necessary

I went to juco at 18, but came from a white trash high school and was kicked out. Went back to college at 36 and transferred to CAL and finished in the top 10 of EE students..

Science is entirely based on maths. Sure, some parts are more wordy and less calculate-y, but in the end you need higher maths skills for everything.

Bite the pillow and study some maths.

Here's a real answer for you OP: synthetic organic chemistry. However, that shouldn't suggest that organic chemistry is easy. It requires a certain mind to pick up organic, so good luck.

Organic chemistry on a high level requires a load of math.
Good luck with molecular orbitals and ozone catalyzed reactions without medium academic math.

Also, where can you study only organic chemistry? Is it biology?

Why are you letting a placement test dictate what your major is? Don't you have something you're already interested in? Do whatever the fuck you want, it's college man. If it takes a few extra semesters to get prerequisites completed, then do them. If you *really care* about your major or doing something STEM that you're not "capable on paper" of doing yet, then you'll take however much time you need to get it done.

>> No.5412842

Honestly if you can't handle math get the fuck out of science, any lack of mathematical ability is just laziness on your part. Someone too lazy to teach themselves math let alone be taught it will not make any contributions to modern science.
