My new year's resolution is to get a gf.
Help me, /sci/.
What should I say to a woman in an online dating network?

I'm not furry. I wouldn't have a problem with a furry gf though.

It's my only chance.

1) Read others profiles without extrapolating the future.

2) Find something you both do or like. Something you have in common.

3) Send her a UNIQUE and private message like this.

"Hey, I came across your profile and noticed you liked the movie ... I also like ... Maybe we could meet up for Coffee at starbucks and then go see this other movie ..."

although it doesn't have to be that personal the first time. You just need a nice non threatening message to get her to respond to you and get to know you better.

Be warned. When dating online you should expect about 1 reply per 100 UNIQUE messages you send out. It will take time and be tedious but is usually guaranteed to get you a date unless you have some ridiculous flaw or turn off.

What makes a message unique? What if I don't share anyone's interests?

like what?

>What makes a message unique?

Some sites give you a standard introduction message. Delete it and make up your own. You want to introduce yourself, say a few things about yourself, and say why you found them interesting. Now they know who you are and can hopefully relate to you. You are trying to build a personal connection with that person.

>What if I don't share anyone's interests?

If you don't share any interests with anyone you probably don't have that many interests. Go find more things you enjoy doing and could do with someone else.

>ridiculous flaw or turn off

If you don't shower enough for example. I remember in college some Indians just smelled so awful and I always wondered how they got dates like that. Or maybe you have really bad acne. I'd suggest trying to eat healthier and workout to get rid of it. My best friend had to stop eating french fries to get rid of his. Everyone has flaws and sometimes you have to get rid of them to find someone compatible.
