I have a question for you /sci/ What state of matter is fire in? Is it a solid liquid gas or plasma? Or a combination of both?

Since fire is a process I don't think it fits into any category. Although I suppose you could say it is a mixture of hot gases and in some scenarios it could be seen as plasma, if you microwaved flames for example.

Fire is an element, along with the others of water, earth and wind.

Depends on your definition

If you're referring to the light and the heat, then it's not at all matter, but rather just energy.

If you're referring to the gas particles that bump and bump and exchange electrons, it's still a gas. It can however be a plasma when the flame is hot enough that the gas particles are hitting each other so fast the electrons just get flung away and the gas particles are ionised (definition of plasma)

Fire is made of phlogiston.

depends on each fire, what you see is the emission of photons due to the high temperature, which mostly corresponds to gasses mostly.

you are retarded, why do you answer something you know nothing about? force cariers arnt "just energy"

It's fire just the hot gas where the molecules have absorbed the heat of whatever chemical reaction is going on at the time and the bright glow is caused by the high amounts of energy being emitted?

Solid/liquid/gas are arbitrarily defined states. If you're talking about science, you have to talk about the state of the atoms when the fire is taking place. Same thing with then liquid/solid of an object.
