Ignoring the foundation: Is the structure of this bridge viable?

>> No.5250233

Yes. Clearly it's built with fantasy mysic elf blocks.

>> No.5250229

dear god no. Depending on the material, it may be possible to build. But the structure is weakening, and would produce a structure with much less the load limit that the materials could permit.

It's a bit like a truss except the curvature of the members makes it much worse. Basically each curved support is the only thing which has the capacity to generate uplift, but because it is at an extreme angle (and assuming its acting predominantly in compression) its going to generate much more horizontal thrust than vertical support. The end result will be that, if you could somehow ensure the supports didn't snap, the decking at the middle of the bridge would be crushed by enormous lateral forces.
Also, I'm just assuming that it reverses direction at mid-span, otherwise its beyond comprehension.

Assuming stability of the feet, is the structure of this statue viable?

It doesn't in this example

Shear failure at the (statue's) right arm.

Sup guys, prospective engineer. Would this hold up? What if it was on a planet with more gravity so that the side bar things had more spring?

Angular intersect like rib is better. that structure remains even if civilization perish.
Pic's structure is weak to the crosswind.
