Hey /sci/ what do you think about nootropics?
I've just purchased AlphaBrain along with the rest of Onnit's line of Supplements to give them a test run.

Have you guys used them?

How did you find them? I only discovered them through the Joe Rogan Experience Podcast and finally decided to give them ago

pic related, the package i went for: Alphabrain, New Mood, Shroomtech (Sport + Immune)

This drug has been shown to slightly slow degeneration in 75 year old Alzheimer's patients. So it's bound to make me understand algebraic geometry, right?

Or not even that, and it just gets you a little high and so makes you feel smarter.

Only nootropic I know of that actually has evidence for increasing intelligence is Creatine Monohydrate.

Found significant increase in score on the type of logic puzzle thing used in most IQ tests after 6 weeks of supplements. Only tested it on vegetarians, but surely we're all vegetarians by now.

There are a few studies claimed to provide counter-evidence, but I've yet to see one that actually does. Most are giving the supplement for far shorter durations. The original study only found significant improvements after several weeks, but most these studies only supplement for a week or two.
