Sometimes when I watch videos of grand displays/shows, like amazing fireworks displays (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1yLRK2M8YQ&feature=related)), or laser shows, or even marching bands (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngjcAvg6TYg)) almost make me tear up.

At certain moments these things seem to trigger an emotional (sort of excitement/anxious/joyous) response and I just don't quite understand why... It seems to rely Music-visual syncing, scale, and possibly audience scale (when you can hear thousands of people being amazed) to trigger the emotion, but I'm sure other factors exist.

What's going on here? Have there been any studies on this kind of emotional responses to displays? I can't find any papers via google but I'm not sure I can think of the right key-words.
