Hey /x/, I've got a question.

I chill my water bottles in the freezer, as it cools it faster. When I take one out, they're still liquid, but after a few seconds they freeze in my hand! How does that work?

IIRC, it's because of supercooling, then the disturbance causes, well, disturbance and allows a few molecules to bump into eachother and stick, then that acts as a seed crystal.
Look up saturated sodium acetate/hot ice for another cool example of supersaturated solutions.
