What would happen If two blackholes approached each other and got caught in each others gravitational field

>> No.5177484

No idea. They would probably for a bigger blackhole

>> No.5177494

They combine and create a black hole with a mass equal to the sum of the two original black holes.

>> No.5177503

Big Bang

>> No.5177527

it creates a window into the ethereal universe beyond our own. the new black hole is in fact God's anus and we can thus witness ourselves through the creation of our Lord and savior. amen.

>> No.5177549

I think the magnetic fields of blackholes avoid them from coming close to other black holes. But I'm not sure if the magnetic forcefield is strong enough to overpower the gravitational pull.

>caught in each others gravitational field

Gravitational fields don't have edges. Everything is in everything else's gravitational field already.

>> No.5177577

>>5177494
Their masses together as a single black hole would be significantly more than the sum of their masses apart.

>> No.5177580

>>5177577

And why is that?

>> No.5177582

>>5177577
False. It would actually be slightly less.

>> No.5177587

Black holes are scary.

>> No.5177590

They starts to spin around each other, much like a pair of colliding galaxy. As they starts to really 'collide', the hole with a greater mass will devour the hole with the lesser mass. The black hole will exist within a black hole. Gordon Freeman will then turn into Morgan Freeman and shout 'I'M ALIVE'. There after, infinite blackness will exist within Morgan Freeman's skin cell, making him god.

Gravitational potential energy. As they fall toward each other, they are accelerated, and gain quite a large amount of kinetic energy. When they collide, the kinetic energy becomes rest mass.
