So. Who remembers this? I tweaked around a bit, but its not perfect.
What does /sci/ think?

either b slightly less than c, depending on how far the bullet has traveled since leaving the gun.

between C and D.
far closer to C, for the sake of approximation.
slightly under it, but a tiny tiny unmeasurably small angle, because gravity means the bullet will start to go down a little bit, before it crosses the line and then continues on it's current trajectory for ever.

anyone who says A.B, or E is a retard or a troll, or both

>> No.5143207

Bullets spin and basically cut a hole in the air, so it would essentially be either slightly above or slightly below C depending on the orientation of the bullet at the moment gravity no longer has an affect on it.

presume no wind
theres no force to elevate the bullet upwards, so it's definitely not gonna move upwards.

gravity is pulling it down, it's just that the gravity only acts for a fraction of a second.

A for sure, there is ZERO gravity at 9.8km/h

well halleys comet is a lot faster than that

"The 1910 passage was at a relative velocity of 70.56 km/s (157,838 mph or 254,016 km/h)."

and yet it orbits the sun coz of the suns gravity

>there is ZERO gravity at 9.8km/h
nope
slam dunk for SCIENCE!

The correct answer is option D.
During the short period of time where the bullet experiences gravity, it gains a downward velocity. In the zero gravity vacuum there is no form of friction or any upward force to negate this downward velocity, meaning the bullet will continue to descend. Naturally it also has a horizontal velocity which is far greater than its horizontal velocity, meaning it will follow a downward sloping line, like D. (only with a smaller angle than portrayed in your picture).

it's D but it's more like this...

if there were no gravity, it would travel in a straight line forever. with gravity, it follows a curved path downward, but when you cut gravity off it stops this and just keeps moving in a straight line in the direction it was going forever, which is now tilted slightly down.
