Chemistry question here.

What does it mean when you say in a mol you got 6,02*10^23 atoms?
Does it realy mean that in C, Cl, or any element I got this number of atoms in it?

How is it possible knowing that an element is an atom itself?

And then again why does this number apply to any atoms knowing that it is the number of atoms in 12g of C12 (isotop)?
