Saw my friend reposting this on Facebook from the corner of my eye.

I really hate that "Bitches love Science" attitude that Dr. Who fans are sprouting, especially when you get to hear some stupid bitch think that string theory is pure biology.

Dumb fucks you know in real life. Please tell me about them.

Everyone majoring in pure science with their deluded fantasies of how the real world works.

This.

Also, people that like to think "philosophically" and write their conceptual essays AFTER making an established piece-- but that's something you mostly see with artfags.

With Lucy Liu? I think that as long as they don't go trying to perfectly mimic the books, it will be just like every other whodunnit show with the "unorthodox" snarky main character and the assistant.

I just hope they uphold Sherlock's awkwardness and faux pas from the books rather than the Captain Jack Sparrow 2.0 that was in the movies.

I think that physics classes are a bit better for this. Personally, I'd rather pair up a chemist with a physics professor and lock them in the same room and record the results than have to listen to one guy with a general idea of both.

Back to what I'm guessing is an /ic/fag said about conceptualizing art. I think it's important to draw what you fucking see before you go into composition and unity and space, because if it's not there than you're just dicking around.

the bbc "sherlock" is decent. they even include nicotine patches as a substitute for cocaine. (though, the pilot episode 1 is better imo than the official episode 1)

>Can't into reading comprehension
I said >Everyone majoring in pure science, not science itself. Pure sci undergrads are by far the most retarded people you'll ever meet (there are a few exceptions, of course, but these are rare gems in a mountain of shit). Disregarding the obscence crap (hurr durr mutli-verse etc) they advocate without justification or understanding, they can't even apply the most basic scientific concepts correctly.

yeah, i'm more of an analyze after-the-fact guy...and i know how little practical value that is.

Maybe I'm just bitter after having to listen to a full grown man explain why his still life of oranges was purple and elongated. He also stuttered like a motherfucker, so the entire process was humbling because I couldn't rip it off the wall for him and tell him he needs to follow basic instruction. I really like some of the higher ups in art forums and classes, because they can actually dive into some of the (utmost basic) physics and relations of weight, visual appeal and construction while still being able to call shit out because someone didn't follow instructions.

Again, no.

I'm talking about PEOPLE who were too stupid to get into Engineering and will end up in a fast-food joint as opposed to field x vs field y. I respect most real Scientists more than any other professionals in the world though.

This. I'd like to see just what tomfoolery would come from a mix of the two dudes together.

I'd like to contribute to the thread a little: I think that Geology majors are the spaghetti/pocket overlords when stuck in the middle of a science-buddy conversation, and I mean of all the goddamn jobs that'll be taken over by computers someday. Get one talking and not only will be not be able to keep up once someone wants to stop talking about goddamn volcanoes, but they are all terrible at picking up women too.

Filament Man. If it turns out as brittle as I'm guessing it would be, then moving electricity through a wire would be the best job for it, if anything.

But certainly not fighting forces of evil.

I don't think anyone on this board is too concerned with what they are actually made of, since you have to dig through a bunch of comic books to get to that hootenanny. The major part of what's wrong with the above picture is that silver and iron don't just wake up next to one another in bed and become an alloy. That's like putting a Cuban and an Argentinian into the same bed.

Does not fucking happen, but at least the picture bothers more boards than just /sci/.
