Which science is the most alpha?

Astrophysics

Nope. Astrophysics is to science as what fantasy is to literature.

It's still not a science; psychology itself is often called not a science due to not being rigorous enough

>psychology itself is often called not a science due to not being rigorous enough

False, Psychology is not a science because it is applying the scientific method to a dynamic environment. They attack the problem from the top down instead of the bottom up. Neuroscience is the science that psychology wants to be.

Psychology is right sometimes though. People could be predictable. Otherwise, stuff like marketing wouldn't work.

Psych is actually more heavily reliant on science than any other discipline I can think of. In astrophysics you can look at the moon, stars, etc. But in Psych, what can you look at? A mind? Nobody has ever seen or weighed a "mind." Yet we know about how our minds work solely through experimentation and new technology like fMRIs.

>> No.5099572

>>5099555
fMRI doesn't tell you *shit* about how the mind works, and it only gives you an extremely flimsy indication of how the brain works. Real physiologists (AKA real systems neuroscientists) don't give three shits about fMRI.

That one can't observe one's object of study doesn't make one's discipline more noble or scientific, it makes one's questions poorly defined.

Yes, if you graduated at the top of your class and go to the top 2% of universities. (Caltech, MIT, Harvard, Columbia, etc.)

Otherwise, enjoy grading papers.
