can a levels in biology and maths alone get you anywhere? (eg. psychology?)

>> No.5028071

it will get you to a poor house

>> No.5028073

how have you managed to only get two A levels? didn't you do a third like most people?

english lit and music, but i assumed they would bear relevance to a sciency career

>> No.5028084

the real question is biology+maths vs physics+maths

*wouldnt

okay, i see it as either going to something math related or a specified branch of biology (optometry for example).
I can't really see a crossover between the two, shame you didn't do maths-physics or chem-bio combo, then you could've least had engineering or pharmacy available respectively.

what are you interests anon?

no contest; women studies-history of art combo beats all

oh i havent done them yet, im re-deciding which subjects to take for a level

interests: originally neuroscience but cant because no chemistry
psychology (but the science end of it ie. research but not sure if need psychology a level)
engineering wouldnt mind, but would have to change to physics
criminology but reluctant as social sciences are frowned upon

>>5028093
do opt with optical physics

>> No.5028148

what would i need in order to do biometrics?

>> No.5028159

from my personal expeirience, psychology a level is a joke (as in its a piece of piss easy and common sense) so a degree in it seems somewhat useless imo. But i think it might be necessary to be accredited by BPS for research.

i wouldnt see how chemistry would be necessary for neuroscience, we didn't cover anything related to it at a level.

engineering is supposedly good, im starting a course in it soon so i can't really give feedback on that.

dont not take something out of peer pressure, at the end of the day if your not interested in something even though its prestigous or "god-tier" degree, theres no point doing it.

Have a look on uni websites for courses that tickle your fancy and the necessary a levels to do them.

mfw just completed only a levels in maths & biology.
Minus the shitty art one.

Doing computer science, uni hardur.

apparently 2 sciences is the only way to have a safe bet for pure science degrees, and whether maths counts as a science is controversial

Also, forgot to link. I once wanted to do neuroscience. With biology alone you're cool to do it.

>Specific entry requirements: A levels must include one science subject (which can include Psychology, but not Geography). Successful applicants will also need GCSE (or equivalent) Chemistry or Physics (or Double Science), grade B; as well as Mathematics, at grade C.

I mean everyone at least has the double GCSE standard, triple if you're pro.

i was suprized when my mate who'd done physics A level had to take a foundation year in it simply because he didn't do maths (he'd take the three sciences instead).
I'd say im quite lucky i settled on Maths and Chemistry or i'd never been able to get on my Chem Eng course
