Seriously, why the fuck do people do this, it takes too long to graph functions by hand. No one is going to fucking pay you to do math the long way.

Every decent college (even half-decent) won't let you use graphical calculators for calculus.

Graphical calculators just do almost all the work for you if you know how to use them. They are ok to use in later courses if calculus is a tool, not in calc II where calculus is what you are learning.

TL;DR: Get over it, no one uses graphical calculators in calc II

>> No.5009204

Is this for community college? I would hope that any respectable university provide at maximum a integral/identity table for most calculus classes.

>> No.5009203

>>5009186
It doesn't take long.

You just need to remember all of these theorems and crap.

Rational roots, to narrow down the possibilities.
Descartes rule of sign, to narrow it down even further.
Number of zeroes theorem, to narrow it down a bit more.
Boundness/Intermediate value theorem, to narrow it down further.
The precalc rules of moving it up, down, left, right, etc.
Vertical/horizontal asymptote rules, how to graph it, etc.
Not to mention synthetic division.
End behavior/turning point concepts.
Conjugate zeros theorem, if your prof is a faggot.

Remember those and you're good to go. :D Can do the graph in a matter of minutes. In all of my calc classes, I was not allowed to use a calculator.

>tfw I had to estimate sin 104 without a calculator on an exam.

Figure it out nignogs, the greens are obviously 'square and add', as sin² x + cos² x = 1
The reds are obviously multiply, as sin x csc = 1 and cot x tan = 1

Your not fucking doing hard as fuck integrals, your not solving hard as fuck differential equations, You don't use numerical methods. you don't need a fucking graphing calculator for intro undergrad calc courses.

Hell even solving 3x3 linear equations doesn't take that long, if you know any of the methods. Stop bitching.

I usually just try to bruteforce every problem, too many theorems and identities to remember, makes my head spin.

and why do you need to graph the functions? you already know what you need to know by taking second and third derivates right?

if you want to know it's inflexion point you just take the zero of the derivate, and so on...

Calculators aren't necessary for general solutions.

>> No.5009973

Eh my teacher let us use graphing calcs for our stuff (as if it mattered). Most of the shit you memorized and honestly I just ended up using my calculator to make sure I dont fuck up basic arithmetic. (Happens more than once when Im tired) Either way for the calc series you basically dont need to use a calculator unless your teacher wants fully computed answers instead of just solving it out.
