Please do these two tests and post results :
http://www.mensa.fr/?action=admission_test
http://www.mensa.be/iq/iqtest/iqtestfr.html
You can translate them if you want but it's not necessary because all you have to do is finish the pattern.
P.S THIS IS NOT AN IQ TEST!!! It's just patterns and in the end, it gives you the percentage of good answers.

>> No.4987571 [DELETED]

I got 38/40 on the first one and 32/33.

>> No.4987579 [DELETED]

I got 38/40 on the first one and 31/33 in the second one.

>> No.4987586

Took only the second test.

>Merci d'avoir participe au test preliminaire de Mensa Belgique

Someone translate please. I don't speak faggot.

You got the same as me. 32/33 which is 96%.

Also, if any of you are planning on doing only one of them, do the first one. It's much better.

Someone please explain the sequences 4, 5, 7 and 15.

I don't quite understand what I have to do on the seconf test 19 - 22. Can someone translate the frenchspeak for me?

33/33
I do consider myself to be pretty good at these, shame I can't say that it extrapolates well to my college work.

On a side note, I took the Mensa admission test a couple of years ago, and passed pretty comfortably, but obviously IQ doesn't mean all that much past a point, so the actual score is kinda irrelevant.

You have to choose the two figures that get tranformed one into the other in an analogous way like the examples.

>> No.4987635 [DELETED]

>>4987625
not looked at the others hard yet, but 7 is easy
add 1, add 2, add 4, add 8, add 16 etc.
so next is 17+16 = 33

>> No.4987638

>>4987635
You sure it's not 29?
I mean because of prime numbers.

>> No.4987640 [DELETED]

>>4987625
oh, and 15 will be ca[ital V.
it alternates uppercase to lower case as you go, and just convert letters into what number they are in the aplphabet

2,4,8,14
so its:
add 2, add 4, add 6, add 8, add 10, etc

14+8 = 22
V is the 22nd letter, and it needs to be capital this time, as last one was lowercase.

I'm not sure if these are right but here are the patterns I personally saw.
4. 1 , 3 , 1*4, 3*2, 1*4*4, 3*2*2 so 12
5. 1248, (1+2)(2+4)(4+8).... 1610, (1+6)(6+1)(1+0) or 771
7. 2, 2*2-1, 3*2-1... 17*2-1 or 33
15. B, B+2 letter, C+4 letters, H+6 letters... N+8 letters which is V

>>4987628

Select two items that go through the same changes as the others.
Damn, took me a fucking eternity to wright this.

>>4987633
Do the first one, it's much better. Me and the first poster only got one answer wrong which isn't a big difference from you but number one is a bit more challenging. i got 38/40 in it but I did it in at least 35 minutes (max is 40 minutes).
>>4987654
This is my post by the way. Ask me if you need a translation or something.

>> No.4987666 [DELETED]

so next after that is 1*4*4*4
and then
3*2*2*2
and then
1*4*4*4*4
and then
3*2*2*2*2

it's always those 2 things alternating, with an extra multiplication on the end.

well played whoever spotted that one. i had no fucking idea.

>> No.4987667

>>4987656
There are two series.
1, 1*4, 1*4^2......
And
3, 3*2, 3*2^2......
At least that's how I see it.. I'm sure other patterns will give the same results if other people see it differently like for the question 7 for example; my pattern AND Ek's pattern give the same answer.

>> No.4987670

>>4987666
It's quite easy, you just have to take your time. You have fourty minutes so take a bit less than 1 minute per question and for the hard questions, you can think a bit more.

i presume i had to find the odd one out or some shit.

>> No.4987678 [DELETED]

oh fuck, i just realised we can just translate the page.

"Part 7: Dominos
Among the five dominoes proposed right, which replaces the "?"

Each square can be blue or red."

...why is part 2 called 'burglary'???

>> No.4987683 [DELETED]

so like, for that first one, the blue ones are counting down by 1, red ones are going up by 2.
so next one will be blue4, red 1 (blank counts as a space, so it counts to 7 and then resets)

>> No.4987685 [DELETED]

if you see a blank space, just count it as a 7.

I didn't like the first one. The odd one out and dominoes sections made no sense, and everything else was incredibly easy. Second one had some bullshit too but it was consistent.

This is exactly what I don't like about modern IQ tests. There just can exist multiple patterns for each set, and the author expects you to find one.

The thing is, all patterns lead to the same answer. They study this shit before they give it and make sure all the possible patterns give the same answer.
Also, you should never look too deep into them because they will ever give something that a three year old won't understand.
