There's a bunch of pics like this one.

I'm assuming they are simulations right? Not actual false colored images taken by hubble or anything right?

>> No.4976088

Yeah it's a simulation.

What do they do with these pics anyway? Just ramp up there relative brightness of stars so you can better see the structure of the universe?

just becasue its a simulation doesn't mean its accurate. It was done over a great period of time with a very powerful supercomputer using a huge amount of data of what we have already observed. And accurately replicates what we expect the universe to look like.

>these images just became significantly more lame

Just another thing to add to my list of stuff that originally seemed super cool, only to turn out to be false, or greatly exaggerated.

Life sucks.

building up a picture of the universe with radio waves over 20 years isn't exactly normal photography, it's still amazing.

well you can;t see a picture of it, because its dark matter, the only way to see it is to simulate it. So no sorry you will never see an actual photo pf dark matter.

Viewing only non dark matter in the universe doesn't give an accurate picture of whats happening. Its like trying to understand clouds by only looking at lighting.

This discussion reminds me of #6 in this article. Nihilism is a phase most people (and maybe even many civilizations) go through, but can often come out stronger, wiser and happier than they started. Any decent intelligent lifeform will overcome its nihilism, and embrace its true destiny.

Well, if they ever launch that fucking Webb telescope, maybe we'll be able to fucking make some

probably not

but at least our simulations would be more accurate

who gives a fuck, they look pretty and blow your mind anyways
