Heya, /sci/, can you help me to do this problem? I've always been shit for maths. Double check this?

>A national brand contains 30% cranberry juice. Amanda would like to make 20 liters of a drink that contains 65% cranberry juice. How many liters of pure cranberry juice would it take to obtain her 65% mixture?

Because she needs 65%, which is twice and a sixth again her starting ratio of 30%, the ratio of mixture (30%), henceforth M, to concentrate (henceforth C), 100, is 6:13, yes? So adding 6 liters of M and 13 liters of C will end up with 19 liters, so you need another liter, which will be 7/13's C. So the final answer would be 13+7/13, right?

Sorry again to bother you with something that must be so easy to math titans like you guys... Pic unrelated.

You can skip the calculations. She will fuck it up, because she's a woman.

She really shouldn't be using the crap national brand cocktail blend to try to make a drink with even more cranberry juice. There is something wrong with her brain.

>> No.4967348

read the question again. what sort of juice is she starting with?

Hint: it's not 35%

What the fuck
How did you know that

Wait, but I didn't put 35%, I put 30%

10

The first sentence about the national brand is completely unimportant. All you need to know is the desired amount and mixture level. So the equation would be x * 100% = 20 * 65%, or 1x = 20 * .65. So, the answer is 13 liters of pure cranberry juice. (I think)
