The best option is: don't get in a car accident.
Seriously, drive carefully, mind your blind spots, give right-of-way, DO NOT drink and drive, and don't be selfish on the road.

If you're that uncomfortable or unconfident in your driving abilities, take some extra driving lessons, or if you're that paranoid, don't drive alot, and take the bus/bike/walk whenever you can.

If you do get into an accident, and it's not your fault, dont be too harsh on the driver at fault, unless he/she was drunk/acting like an asshole

Most likely the accident you'll get into is one where everyone's pointing fingers at each other, in which case keep calm, stand your ground, contact the insurance companies, and don't say anything stupid that they can use against you, like "I didn't see him/her coming", in which case you'll get nailed for lack of awareness or whatever the hell it's called.

If you're clearly at fault, then honestly all you can do is apologize and comply with what the other party/insurance tells you to do. And hope that the other party is sympathetic towards you.
