998001 = 999^2, so 1/998001 is a copy of 1/999 at every appearance of a 1 in 1/999.

nice find, though; i never noticed before.

also babby's first fun expansions: 10/89 is the sum of 10^-n times the n-th fibonacci number. fun implications when you consider the fact that it has a period.
