I also know that the likely republican majorities in the house and senate would give Romney pretty free reign in economic matters. And the likely course would be very similar to what Reagan did in 1980 which led to 20 years of strong economic growth and the highest standard of living in history. Ronald Reagan - over the course of his two terms he raised taxes more times than he cut them (USA in horrible debt). Bush I - raise taxes (USA still in horrible debt). Bill Clinton - took office in 1993 he faced a $300 billion deficit. He cut government spending by $247 billion and raised taxes on top earners. That move, and later tax cuts, resulted in a budget surplus in 1998.

The only fucking time america hasn't been in horrible crushing terrible debt is when you raised taxes on the Rich. This is not an ideal the modern republicans will endorse. You will continue to grow debt, until you are 100% owned by china. Then they will come to collect.

Also, anyone who actually thinks a romney presidency would be different from another obama term in any meaningful way has to either not be american or completely fuck braindead retarded, sure it'd be cutting a tiny bit of discretionary spending and seriously cutting taxes on the rich and it'd probably bring up the deficit a tad and boost the private sector a bit, but both romney and obama will perpetuate the corporate welfare state and do absolutely nothing to fix the issues that actually need fixing (fucking medicare and ss, obamacare is a fucking joke), and both will add to the debt with impunity because it isn't going to implode in their political lifetimes and it is going to hurt a lot to fix it. But they're the exact same fucking candidate outside of some insignificant differences on social issues and thinking romney would lead to dramatic change or even any fucking noticeable change is a fucking retard incapable of critical thinking.
