/o/ here, we often fuss over whether nitrogen in tires really have any effect. most people think its a marketing gimmick. considering nitrogen makes up most of the atmosphere, one could assume its hardly different from regular air in your tires. however, i always figured that the nitrogen in the atmosphere was in the higher atmosphere, where pumps on the ground wouldnt get to

you know all that 'additives for your engine' bullshit they tried to feed consumers? had all those idiots putting cans of shit into their engines causing oil froth/high-pressure etc......

yeah i dont think the air pump at my local station has any of this nitrogen bullshit and would it really make a difference on my 13inch tires? probably not

the mix of gases in our atmosphere is largely consistent -- or at least, there isn't any reason to consider the different stuff higher up.

It is not in layers, where you are breathing from an oxygen layer, and nitrogen is higher -- the nitrogen (78%) is next to you, oxygen (21%) mixed in, and a bunch of scraps of other things.

78% of what you are breathing in is nitrogen.
21% of it is oxygen.

Nitrogen is an inert gas. The only raisin for getting it is to not get water vapor in your tires and have a consistent tire pressure (racing). Other than that it is a waste of money.
