is there a reasonable way to create a small amount of styrene (C6H5CH=CH2) on your own?

Chemfag reporting. Awaiting imminent disapointment when I discover OP is not truly a fellow researcher, but just another fag who wants to burn shit.

You want something that polymerizes when set on fire? Kinda working at cross purposes there, as El cumbusto will be breaking bonds and liberating your monomer as soot and CO2.

OR; were you just after something that polymerizes when heated?

If you just want to make hillbilly napalm, packing styrofoam will do fine.
