Is anesthesia safe? What does it do to your brain to turn you off?

Is sleeping safe? What does it do to your brain to turn you off?

>> No.4775600

>>4775594
Yep, because natural sleep and chemically induced amnesia are exactly the same thing.

>> No.4775603

>>4775600
chemicals don't induce sleep?

>> No.4775611

>>4775603
You know what I mean. "Chemical' in common usage refers to industrialized, somewhat unnatural (i.e. you would never run into the anesthesia drugs in nature) substances.

>> No.4775614

>>4775611

No, we don't know what you mean, because we're scientists here.

>amnesia
You obviously don't know what this word means.

>Anesthesia, or anaesthesia ([1] traditionally meant the condition of having sensation (including the feeling of pain) blocked or temporarily taken away. It is a pharmacologically induced and reversible state of AMNESIA, analgesia, loss of responsiveness, loss of skeletal muscle reflexes or decreased stress response, or all simultaneously.

I'm actually going to be a senior in HS this coming year, I live in GA and Tech is obviously high on my list.

Would you mind posting your stats (GPA and SAT)? To see how I stack up.

The "common" usage is retarded and you should feel ashamed for using it.

>> No.4775645

>>4775633

It's still incorrect.

I dare you to go on /k/ and call a magazine a clip, then argue that it's the "common usage".

GPA 3.74 unweighted at a top 50 high school (I wasn't even top 10%); I took eight AP tests and got fives on six of them, I'm an IB diploma candidate, and my SAT was 2290 superscored (national merit finalist).

but admissions isn't so demanding. acceptance rate is like 50%. post your stats?

I'll have done 11 AP's by the end of HS, including Chem, Physics C, and Calc AB & BC

3.875 GPA at a decent public HS in a decently affluent part of Cobb Co (metro ATL), so the school isn't horrible. I was hilariously apathetic about school during frosh year, and got a bunch of B's. Fuuuck.

National Merit Semifinalist for sure, may be a Finalist (I got a 231 on the PSAT so I know that I'll at least get NMSF), although idk if Tech takes NMSF/NMF into account. Hopefully they do.

2270 on my first SAT, 800 CR, 690 Math (wtf), 780 Writing. My math score was abnormally low that day, I'm expecting a 740+ in math when I retake it.

I have a good chance, but my EC's suck (re: there are none), and I hate myself for getting a bunch of shitty B's freshman year. Reeeeally wish that I could just apply now.

also i had a 4.7/6 and a 3.08/4

>> No.4775679

it doesn't matter; gt is a public school and you'll get in almost certainly since they care a lot about the numbers. even otherwise that is quite good.

at least, if you DON'T get in I will be really, really surprised.

>>4775672

LOL. I got into UT (austin) as well and decided to go to gt. gt engineering is a lot more prestigious.

>> No.4775680

nope pretty sure GT is way the fuck better than UT for engineering, enjoy your shitty education

It really depends on the major. I got into Georgia tech, Johns Hopkins, and UT-Austin but chose the University of Illinois over both of those. It also guaranteed funding, which the others didn't

>> No.4775735

Once you get into the good publics, like GA Tech, UCLA, Florida, the Big Ten schools, etc, it's all pretty much the same.

Dude your app is stacked lol... people with worse stats than that got in from my school this year
