Are biochemists with b.s. able to create drugs such as lsd and ectasy? Or does it take a lot more chemistry courses to be able to do things like that?

anyone that has taken ochem I,II,and respective labs can do it

>lsd
anyone that has done the same and excelled could probably do it, some analytical chem and gc experience looks like it would be extremely helpful

It takes a few hours on the internet to learn how to make drugs, but a biochemist will have an easier time getting the ingredients and be better at it.

no... but I lolled tho.

I just finished the first year out of 3 in biochemistry, next spring i will be enrolling in organic chemistry. I was was just wondering if i'll be able to make sweet delightful drugs after I've graduated.

There's also a bottle with 20 grams of pseudoephendrine that's just sitting in the "samples tested" cabinet. It only gets cleaned out when we can't close the cabinet door.

Anyone that learns how to "make drugs" in a few hours on the internet is going to end up killing themselves or burning down their trailer park.

Why would you want to MAKE drugs?

Seriously, hydrocodone/loritab is literally heroin, and oxycotin/oxycodone is literally opium.

What in the fuck does the cost of making LSD have to do with the fact that no one is going to be able to follow some synthesis off the internet with only a "few hours" or study?

Are you 12 or literally just butt fucking retarded?

>Implying opium doesn't completely destroy the fucking senses.

Also, oxycodone has a muscle relaxing compound added to it's synthetic opiod, so that may fuck you up worse. Also, people have innate tolerances to certain drugs, see also whitebread pothead and reservation alchie.

which is why jimmy ray from kentucky is not going to be able to cook it up in the back of his truck as easily as he did meth from the recipe he found on the rhodium archives ... you cant learn how to operate a rotary vap or gc properly from the internet

LSD is not cheap to mass produce. 1 hit of acid is usually ~150mcg. one hit costs between $10 and $15. my mental guessing math is probably bit off, but that puts a gram of LSD somewhere between $9,500 and $14,000/gram.
combined with the difficulty of acquiring ingredients, a secure facility, lab equipment, some guys that know what the fuck they're doing chemistry-wise, more guys to move the product, secretly, and even more guys to protect the first 2 groups of guys asses, all while managing to cover any evidence of what you're doing like spikes in power consumption or the guy at home depot calling the cops when you're buying a meth lab and a half every other week, or some fucking nutjob ripping off a shipment.

you know why LSD is hard as fuck to find? This is why.

>> No.4730833

You don't learn efficient organic synthesis from two orgo classes and a dozen canned labs. Reactions are the easy part, separating is the hard part, characterizing it is almost impossible without expensive instrumentation. You can only get so far with an impure reference. Shit is hard enough legally.

Why exactly would you be purchasing suspiciously large amounts of chemicals on a weekly basis if you can get get ~10,000 hits from one gram of material? You should be able to get by with one medium size purchase per year of the common stuff. This isn't meth you're dealing with. You really wouldn't need that much to keep you going.
