Cheap faster than light travel is just discovered to be possible and doable.

What is the reaction of the world, and where do we go first.

>> No.4724061

There is no reaction because we've rewritten all of history.

>> No.4724071

make the first porno going faster than the speed of light of course.

Assuming FTL drives were possible, their invention would mean the raising of Humanity into a higher epic -- spurring a golden age and furthering our expansion into the known Universe.

Truth be told, any change would be 20+ years out. You may see a small willingness to re-invest in space science, but ultimately, space travel costs start at the human level. Whether or not you can get to the closest star doesn't really matter if it still costs a fuckteen billion dollars to get a few tons into orbit.

Come to /sci/ and shit on all the assholes screaming "IT'S NOT POSSIBLE" at every opportunity.

surely we`d get space elevators before FTL?

The world ends shortly from war because offense just got a stupidly powerful buff. Nukes hitting before tracking stations even report they've left? Yeah, we're screwed.
