If you are at a public school tell them if they dont wave that requirement and graduate you in the fall you are transferring to another school and will finish your degree there. They get funding based on how many people they graduate.

I don't see how this is a problem to be honest. Couldn't you just take Chemistry as one of your 12 hours, or do you have requirements you have to do in fall?

I know I had to make up a class for requirements when I switched to a slightly different degree, but it didn't hinder my graduation plan.

Do note, I am not American, so I might be missing something here.
