Well already done basic calc and linear algebra (first year), now doing partial differential equations, not sure what I'll do next...
Physics just did basic first-year courses (electromag, machanics, some special relativity), doing quantum mechanics now, do thermo and more electromag later in the year, then next year do fluid dynamics and maybe theoretical physics, dunno about the year after...

I'd say I'm more sophomoric ;) if we're going by your yank stereotypes, that don't really seem to apply here in Australia...

I never said "college freshmen". I'm sure 90 percent of this board has little to no real education or work experience. In case anyone was wondering, OP is a fag. Protip: engineering gets much harder than ENGR 101 would have you believe.

Good Job on your lifts OP.

Mine are:
Squats - 195lbs, before started with just the 45lb bar.
Bench - 120lbs, before started with just the bar.
Deadlift - 160lbs, started at 70lbs

My lifts could go higher, but I am just focusing on my running as of right now.. oh and if it makes a difference I'm a female so my lifts aren't going to be that big anyways.

Keep it up though, OP. Exercise helps so damn much with dealing with stress and just makes thinking more clear.

If you'd read above, the whole point of this was to show, in response to someone from /sci/ posting on /fit/, that one can be fit whilst and not be dumb-ass.

For someone posting on a science & maths board, you'd do well to not cling to stereotypes like freshman and sophomore... But that's not the point. As I have said multiple times now, my "dick waving" was a response to someone, who claimed to come from /sci/, which is how this is /sci/-related. I guess it WAS dick waving, but it was dick waving to make a point - to defend myself, and the people from /fit/. Not to say I'm better than you, but to say that WE are better than you think of us.

Why do you keep on thinking it's bragging? You are continuing to neglect my point in this thread, the fact that I was defending another board, whether it was a result of "trolling" or not. And whether it's mediocre or not is irrelevant too. If you want people to stop "shitting up this board", then blame the person who posted on /fit/, not me.

just graduated EE, i had to deal with this dumbass freshman/sophmore who thinks he knows everything. He got himself elected to our student IEEE only because nobody else ran (i would have ran and won easily if not for graduating) We all made fun of him. He'll get a rude awaking in the next year or two. At least i came in knowing i didn't know anything about engineering.

You're replying to the thread that thousands of people (Or some really bored few) before OP have posted here before. The banter between /fit/ and /sci/ isn't new. You could, you know? Just ignore it and move on. Sage if you must, then move on instead of bumping it. You reply to mediocre things, thus you care.

Also, there are very few people who can master their bodies and their mind equally.

>> No.4721437

>>4721424
Good lord, why do you all keep assuming that I think I know anything >.< I did say "engineering is easy as balls", but that was just referring to the engineering courses that I am currently enrolled in. I know that it gets harder, I have yet to meet anyone who doesn't realise that - first years included. By the sounds of it, and the fact that these "freshman" and "sophomore" stereotypes exists, American colleges are full of far more deluded students than Australian ones... and it seems to have made all you later-yeared (or graduated) people very bitter about your younger peers :/

>> No.4721458

>>4721433

Replying to a "mediocre" thread (as you so eloquently put it) does not mean I care. I do care, but not for that reason. Fuck saging. This piece of shit thread shouldn't be posted because it's outside the scope and rules of this board. If the mods weren't overworked already, this would be gone and OP would have a well-deserved ban. You fail to realize that this thread is in violation of the rules. I shouldn't have to go to the next page because the first page is filled with bullshit like this. OP is cancer.

>> No.4721528

>>4721504

The thread had nothing to do with science. If I post a thread on /a/ that says "Hey /a/ let's have a discussion about how awesome I am due to some insignificant accomplishment. Also I like anime.", does that make it anime related? This thread has NOTHING to do with science and you know it.

Someone makes a thread crying about not getting an internship (doesn't even specify science)... This guy makes a thread happy about being fit and studying science. What's the difference? And:
>let's have a discussion about how awesome I am due to some insignificant accomplishment
You are so mad...

>> No.4721569

>>4721528
That is a terrible comparison. The "discussion about how awesome OP is" has everything to do with science - the notion that studying it means certain other aspects in life are often neglected/sacrificed.

>> No.4721597

>>4721544

>has clearly ran out of arguments

I do not have autism or any other disorder.

>>4721558

The difference is that I didn't see that thread and I don't really feel like posting in it. I still think it's bullshit that should be deleted though. I'm not so much "mad" as I am annoyed. Why does the presence of a different BS thread justify the existence of this one? Neither one should be here.

>>4721569

Spare me. OP even admitted to "dick waving" and "starting the whole thing". See >>4721392 and >>4721465. This shit doesn't belong here. An appropriate topic would be "Hello /sci/. Let's have a discussion of how we balance other aspects of our lives with our pursuit of science and math knowledge.", not "OMG GUISE I CAN BENCH PRESS AND IM MAJORING IN ENGINEERING".

>> No.4721624

>>4721597
The presence of a different BS thread means a lot. The rules of the board are ambiguous and as such, existence of other threads that regularly surface, and are not banned, is a good indicator of what the mods consider to be appropriate - whether it fits in with what you want in here or not.

Sorry if this board isn't what you want it to be, but I don't see many other people complaining... this thread is by far the worst I've seen recently, but even then, you're really the only one that it's seemed to bother (beyond a couple people chiming in for a post).
